Guinness apologise for ad celebrating Irish heritage that offended migrant council

Guinness have been forced to offer an apology to migrants and take down billboards across Dublin City after Immigrant Council of Europe complained they don’t “celebrate the strength of the Irish team (& wider society) or the huge benefit our diversity brings”.

The advertisement campaign that was designed to coincide with the Ireland-England rugby match on Saturday February 2nd featured the slogan “You Don’t Pick A Side. Your Grandparents Have Done That Already.”.

Brian Killoran of the ‘Immigrant Council of Ireland’ an NGO which is funded with Irish payers money stated, “Irish society is richer in its diversity,” and that the slogan was “a misstep in Guinness’ advertising”.

Guinness have long utilised advertising that highlighted the ‘Irishness’ of the world-famous stout and often made reference to Irish heritage.

As Irish demographics continue to rapidly shift and social justice warriors push for ever greater politically correct policing of speech this may now be a thing of the past.
