Harris and Donohoe welcome nurses’ decision to suspend strike action following Labour Court recommendations




Both the Minister for Health Simon Harris and the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe have welcomed the recent decision by the nurses unions to suspend upcoming strike action.

Speaking to RTÉ News, Minister Harris said that he welcomed the decision by nursing staff to suspend strike action following a recommendation from the Labour Court.

Minister Harris said that although the nurses didn’t make their decision likely to undertake strike action, he did state that he is fully aware of the difficulties within the sector.

He added that he was looking forward to the Health Service resuming work as normal.

Meanwhile the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe also welcomed the decision, saying that he hoped that the recommendations outlined by the Labour Court would provide a quick resolution to the industrial action.

He added that he will inform the Dail about the details of the recommendations later today.
