The Minister for Health Simon Harris has said that he will meet the IRFU later today following the decision to cancel the meeting between Ireland and Italy on March 7th.
In a tweet Harris said that he was meeting with the organisation later today to discuss the matter.
He also stated that the decision was not taken lightly but we must act on the basis of public health advice.
The IRFU are believed to have called the meeting in order to discuss the specific reasoning for the game’s cancellation.
It is understood the game was cancelled following concerns over the recent outbreak of coronavirus in Northern Italy.
