
According to the most recent opinion survey, support for Fine Gael has decreased by 1% to 20%, reports Breaking News.
With 22%, up 3%, and Fianna Fáil at 22%, unchanged, Sinn Féin is the most popular party in the nation.
The Social Democrats have performed well, according to the Business Post Red C survey. Aontú has gained four percent, whereas they have gained two to seven percent, reports Breaking News.
Labour has lost two points to three percent, which is disappointing.
Daniel McConnell, editor of the Business Post, believes Fine Gael won’t feel overly resentful.
“I wouldn’t say they’d be too disappointed. It’s not like they’re now four or five points behind or they’re now lacking the way Fianna Fáil had been lagging behind for a long period of time in the last government,” he said, reports Breaking News.
“So I think if you’re Simon Harris I think you’d be pretty sanguine given that they’ve come out of what was a pretty bruising election campaign. They’ve come out with a good result from their perspective,” reports Breaking News.
