The Minister for Health Simon Harris has thanked emergency services for their diligence after responding to a security incident at the Department of Health on Monday.
In a statement released his Twitter page, Minister Harris thanked those who responded to the incident, saying: “Thank you to the emergency services for their diligence today in responding to an incident at my Department.”
“The safety of staff must always be paramount. Today was a difficult day for them all and particularly those who work so closely with me in my office.”
The Health Minister’s comments came after the Department of Health Building on lower Baggott Street had to be evacuated on Monday after suspicious package was delivered to the building.
It is understood that Minister Harris wasn’t in the building at the time of the incident.
