The heartbroken family of a mother of two who fell while on vacation in Turkey and suffered a severe brain damage has started a fundraising campaign, reports The Mirror.

Earlier this month, Stacey Callan of Drogheda, County Louth, fell while on vacation with her spouse and two kids.

According to family relatives, Stacey suffered a severe brain damage in the accident and is presently in a Turkish hospital in a coma.

“It was a bad fall that caused the brain to bleed. She had brain surgery and is still in ICU,” a family member wrote on social media, reports The Mirror.

To lessen the severe financial strain on Stacey and her family, a Go Fund Me page named “Save Our Stacey” has been established. To date, it has raised around €24,000.

“Our names are Joanne and Wendy and we’re trying to raise funds to help our family member Stacey. We never thought we would have to write this but in October 2024 Stacey Callan suffered a serious brain injury following a fall, whilst on holiday with her partner and two young children. Stacey is currently in a coma in a hospital in Turkey. Whilst Stacey and her family took out travel insurance, the insurance company is refusing to pay out at this time. We will continue to work with the insurance company to resolve any queries they may have but we’re urgently asking for your help to reduce the overwhelming financial burden of this tragic accident for Stacey and her family, so they can focus on Stacey’s recovery,” the Go Fund Me says, reports The Mirror.
