Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique has sadly confirmed that his 9-year-old daughter has passed away.
Enrique who recently quit his role as Spanish coach confirmed that his daughter Xana died following a five month battle with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
In a post on Twitter, the former Barcelona boss wrote: “We will miss you lots but we will remember you every day of our lives, with the hope that in the future we’ll meet each other again. You’ll be the star that guides our family.
“Rest dear Xana.”
In the heartfelt post Enrique thanked those who sent well wishes for their discretion and understanding.
He also thanked doctors and medical professionals who treated his daughter for their “dedication and treatment”.
