Heavy garda presence remains in Dublin city centre following Thursday’s unrest




There was a heavy police presence in Dublin on Saturday as clean-up efforts continued after Thursday’s riots, reports Breaking News.

On Friday evening, government ministers held a briefing on the stabbing attack outside a school in Parnell Square, which later led to unrest and violence.

Thirty-two people have already appeared in court and more arrests are expected as officers review tips and 6,000 hours of CCTV footage.

A five-year-old girl is in critical condition and her caretaker is also hospitalized with serious injuries after a stabbing in the city on Thursday, reports Breaking News.

A six-year-old girl is also being treated at the hospital, while a five-year-old boy has already been discharged home.

The attack suspect is in hospital – under guard, after multiple threats against him.

The city was quiet at night, apart from several arrests for sporadic public order violations, reports Breaking News.
