Today will start out dry enough, but cloud cover will steadily increase as the morning goes on, with outbreaks of rain over Connacht and the northern half of the country.
The rain will spread eastwards towards the evening, and heavy showers will put an unwelcome appearance early in the night, with a possibility of thunderstorms and localised flooding.
It will remain fairly warm though, with temperatures hovering between 16-20C.
