A drunken 30-yr-old man decided to legally change his name to Celine Dion after drinking too many glasses of wine. Thomas Dodd, who is now known as Celine, came up with the ingenious idea while he was watching one of the Canadian singer’s concerts on YouTube over Christmas .
Thomas is manager of hospitality near Staffordshire, UK. “Celine” thought it would be a good idea to pay just over €100 to officially change his name to Celine, but he completely forgot what he had done when the registered Deed Poll documents arrived at his house.
Once someone receives their new Deed Poll documents, they must sign them in front of an independent witness and notify their affected document holders before their name is deemed to have been officially changed.
It’s understood that Thomas has no plans to reverse his decision and hopes to be backstage at one of his idol’s future concerts. The Metro reports that he admits he’s scared to tell his boss about his new name and his mother hasn’t seen the funny side of it
