Holohan tells people to prepare for worrying numbers as thousands of new coronavirus cases are expected to be announced over the coming days

In what has been described as deeply ‘concerning’ and deeply ‘troubling’ for NPHET, the health advisor said that the Irish health service will not cope if numbers get too much.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is warning Ireland to ‘prepare for worrying numbers.’

It is understood that upwards of 9,000 new infections remain to be confirmed and announced.

Covid-19 is currently ‘out of control’ in Ireland, according to the country’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohan.
