
Over €100,000 has been stolen in two separate cash robberies in Dublin today. The two robberies took place in Tallaght and Finglas.
The first robbery took place at 11:30am in the Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas. A security man was threatened by a raider who came upon him as he was delivering a cash box.
The raider made off with the cash box with contained €50,000 cash, he ran to a waiting getaway car.
At 11:45am, a second robbery took place in Tallaght outside the Bank of Ireland. Raiders sprayed a security man in the face with pepper spray and managed to grab his cash box, again containing €50,000 in cash.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and say they believe the incidents aren’t connected. A member of the public tried to stop the getaway vehicle in Tallaght but their car was rammed out of the way.
