The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted families and communities across Ireland.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan called on police to do what they can as he sadly confirmed that the the country’s death toll now stands at 2,006.
The Chief Medical Officer said that it is highly important that we continue to work together in order to surpress the virus and protect those most vulnerable.
Dr Holohan’s comments come as another 379 cases and 12 further Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Wednesday.
