It’s become one the most divisive decisions made by NPHET and the government since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. A so-called “vaccine cert” will see those who are only vaccinated allowed into pubs and restaurants while those who are unvaccinated have to eat outdoors.
The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has warned does who are not vaccinated to sneak into pubs.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan said that those shouldn’t be looking to enter a pub or restaurant whilst they are unvaccinated as they won’t be safe.
He added that those who are unvaccinated should limit their activities to low risk environments and they should continue to practice public health measures.
Dr Holohan’s comments come as indoor hospitality looks set to reopen for those who are fully vaccinated or they have fully recovered from Covid-19.
