Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has painted a bleak outlook for Ireland’s so-called fight against covid.
He’s been the picture of gloom and bad news ever since he came to prominence in March 2020.
Holohan has been the face that’s threatened lockdown after lockdown, after if the latest daily covid numbers are anything to go by then we’re looking at a prospect of another lockdown down the road in the not too distant future.
He said that covid is now spreading widely within the community but that tools such as social distancing and not gathering in big groups can limit the spread.
Whether that’s true or not is anyone’s guess at this stage.
