Homeless charities gear up for Christmas by requesting sleeping bags and toiletries

Temperatures have plummeted in recent weeks and unfortunately many of us are walking past homeless people sleeping rough on our way to and from work in the mornings – it’s a very hard sight to witness and see on a daily basis.

It appears as though the government are doing absolutely nothing in their power to help the 10,397 Irish homeless people who need it the most.

Homeless charities are requesting help by donations including toiletries, hats, scarves and gloves.

For homeless people, it can be impossible to stay warm at night. That’s where such essentials can come in to help greatly.

Sleeping bags are must for those sleeping rough and people can also donate them. Temperatures look to be below freezing for the coming days and soup kitchen volunteers say that they the keep seeing more and more people sleeping rough for fears of what can happen to them in shelters.
