The homelessness scourge blighting a supposedly developed country like Ireland is at ‘tipping point,’ according to acting Minister for Finance Michael Noonan.
In response to the issue, he said that tax breaks for home buyers, rather than VAT cuts for builders and developers, are being considered.
Mr. Noonan said “If you look at it, it’s like a lot of things in life, it’s a supply and demand problem, to get back to that equation,”
“And there’s a tipping point in it, and there’s a tipping point in it where a thousand houses short, or and thousand extra houses can drive you from crisis into surplus.”
