The body was found as the worker was sorting material at the Greenstar facility, Fassaroe in Bray Co Wicklow.
A colleague of the man who found the baby girl spoke of the worker’s horror at the discovery.
“He was standing at the line when he saw the baby. He thought it was a doll but then he screamed”.
The worker in question was sent home as he was traumatised by the ordeal.
A forensic team has begun examining the scene of the discover in the hopes of determining what happened.
