Horrific: Animal lovers devastated as dog’s body is found badly mutilated on beach in County Meath

Animal lovers everywhere have been horrified by reports of the discovery of the body of a badly mutilated dog on a beach in the Laytown area of County Meath.

According to the Irish Mirror, the dog is said to be an American Pit Bull Terrier and was tied to a barrier on the beach.  It is thought that videos were shared on social media, showing the dog being tortured, stabbed and shot to death.

An Garda Siochana have confirmed that they have opened an investigation into the horrific death of the dog and they are liasing with the Meath Dog Warden and the Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA).
