It really doesn’t get much worse than this.
Riots and mass protests have continued in Pakistan after a Christian woman was spared execution for supposedly insulting the Islamic prophet Mohammed.
Christian Pakistani Aasiya Noreen was sentenced to death for allegedly making the remark “Jesus died for me what has Mohammed done for you?” after being insulted by a group of Muslim women.
As in most Muslim majority countries, criticism of Islam is forbidden in Pakistan and religious minorities particularly Christians face systemic persecution.
However, Noreen was spared being publicly hanged after international pressure including from Pope Francis.
While in prison Muslim clerics in the country offered bounties to those who would murder the mother of five should she be spared execution and it has now been revealed she will flee her home country, Fox News reports.
