Police in Brazil have launched an investigation after two boys aged 3 were horrifyingly found cramped and locked inside a tiny crate whilst their parents were at work.
The shocking discovery was made when police in the town of Aparecidinha, in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo, recieved an anonymous tip off informing them of the twins living conditions.
It is believed the boy’s who have now been taken into care, were found during a follow up search by police officers who entered the home whilst the boys parents were at work.
Upon entering the premises officers investigating the report were shocked to discover the twins locked inside the box with little room to move.
Police officials investigating the incident say officers attending the call out found the two boys inside the crate which was separated down the middle and locked with a padlock and chain.
Officers also say the boys had no pillows or toys and they were afforded very little comfort whilst trapped inside the box.
It is believed both parents were arrested by police once the twins were freed, however they were later released from custody after they both gave statements to police.
Police say the boys are currently being cared for at nearby shelter.
