Ireland’s hospitals. and emergency departments in particular, are under unprecedented strain, surpassing the attendance seen at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

RTE has reported that undercover footage revealed people waiting on trolleys queued up along the corridors of Limerick’s University Hospital while there are other reports of nurses and hospital staff having emotional breakdowns under the pressure.

Despite this catastrophic situation the government has said it has no intention to slow the mass influx of refugees from Ukraine and asylum seekers from elsewhere despite the enormous additional burden this is placing on already strained public services.

The Liberal had already reported in November about Nenagh based consultant, Dr Mary Ryan, who told Tipp FM that Ireland must stop accepting refugees as the country can no longer provide adequate medical care to those already here.
The endocrinologist stated in the interview with Tipp FM that one in two cancer cases are being delayed diagnoses and treatment with GPs and hospitals calling for additional resources immediately.

Dr Ryan worryingly also stated that many others in the medical profession are aware of these issues but are afraid to speak out:

“We’re already so far behind, I just don’t agree with Michael Martin when he says they need to keep coming. The services are already stretched, and I can see it on the ground as a doctor.”

The doctor goes on to say:

“People have to not be afraid to speak the truth in this country. For a long time, they’ve been afraid to voice their opinion because we’re being controlled, but that’s not democracy.”

Dr Ryan warned that everyone would consistently experience bad medical service going forward unless the government reduce the number of migrants being allowed into the country.

Towns and cities across Ireland are reporting strains on public services as the government continues to ramp up the plantation of migrants throughout the country.
