House prices in Ireland are rising annually by almost 10%, says CSO




According to data released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the nation’s housing prices rose by 9.6% in the 12 months ending at the end of July, reports Breaking News.

Prices outside of Dublin have increased by 9.1%, while prices in Dublin have increased by 10.3%.

In the year leading up to July 2024, the average cost of a property purchase was €340,000, reports Breaking News.

In the twelve months leading up to July 2024, the highest price paid for a home was €630,000 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, while the lowest amount was €171,000 in Longford.

South Dublin had the largest increase in housing prices, rising 12.1%, while Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown witnessed an increase of 8.3%, rbm

The Mid-West (Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary) recorded the most increase in housing prices outside of Dublin, at 13.4%.

With a 6.1% increase in costs, the South-East, which includes Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, and Wexford, had the lowest price increase.

4,723 family purchases of homes at market prices were reported to the Revenue Commissioners in July 2024, representing a 13.2% increase, reports Breaking News.
