Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy has just about managed to cling on to his seat.
Murphy, whose appalling record as minister has been called into question numerous times, did not actually reach the required vote quota but got in at the expense of other candidates.
Fine Gael is well on course to losing a sizable number of seats after a disastrous campaign and an even worse performance as ruling party.
