HSE back to its old bad habits as Irish Nursing group sounds alarm as very sick patients waiting for a hospital beds across Ireland

It tells a lot about the state of Ireland’s Public Health Service when employees of the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE) voluntarily report every day on how many patients are waiting on hospital trolleys to gain access to a hospital ward for urgent treatment.

But this week, the Irish Nursing and Midwife Organisation (INMO) have gone further than simply compiling their statistics for all public hospitals in the Republic of Ireland. The IMNO has sounded the alarm bells accusing the HSE of “slipping back into old bad habits” according to the Sun.

On Tuesday this week, the Nurse and Midwife group reported that 376 admitted patients were without a bed in hospitals across the country – the highest figure since March 5 2020.
