A criminal investigation in Libya has revealed that a three year old girl, Rabiha Khaled Abdel Hamid, whilst suffering from diarrhoea was allegedly hit with a rope by her father before he sat her in a bathtub with hot water for an hour causing burns to her body.
Rabiha’s father then allegedly locked his daughter in a room, alone, for an unspecified about of time.
When Rabiha was eventually let out of the room, her father agreed to contact a relative to take the child to hospital. It was claimed she had injured herself when she walked into the kitchen and spilled hot water over herself reports the Sun.
It is not yet known if Rabiha’s mother was involved in the shocking treatment of her daughter.
According to the Libyan news source Al Arabiya, the shocking news caused outrage among locals who are calling for the father to be given the death penalty and for a harsh sentence for the mum.
