A man with a knife who attacked a lady in County Derry for sex is being sought by police, reports Breaking News.
Around 10 p.m. on Friday, a man came up behind the woman in her 20s as she was strolling through Drumahoe Park on the outskirts of Derry City and struck her on the side of the head.
The assailant then dragged her into trees close by and forced her to the ground while brandishing a knife, reports Breaking News.
Before she could escape and go for assistance, the lady wrestled with the man and repeatedly struck him in the face with her light.
The assailant had left the site after responding police officers investigated the neighbourhood for him.
PSNI Detective Inspector Ross Olphert said: “Understandably the victim has been left traumatised and extremely distressed by this ordeal. Our specialist officers are continuing to support her today and a full investigation is underway. Attacks like this are an attack on all of us. Women should be free to go about their lives free from any threat,” reports Breaking News.
