Robert O’Neil, the former US Navy Seal who shot and killed Osama Bin Laden during a raid on his compound in Pakistan has hit out at rioters in the United States calling them “politically-funded terrorists”.
Numerous US cities have been wracked by violent riots and looting since footage emerged of African American man, George Floyd, being suffocated while detained by police in Minneapolis.
“I despise racism, I despise police brutality and it kills me that politically-funded terrorists are doing this on the shoulders of both,” he tweeted on Friday night “These are coordinated attacks, are we going to defend ourselves?”
The former elite special forces operative went on to say
“I cannot believe I fought to defend you” and then suggested that the Democratic party were somehow supporting the rioting in their own cities.
“Lots of cities being run by Democrats are being looted. Must be a coincidence.” The former SEAL Team Six leader tweeted in a not so subtle hint that the Democrats were using the riots as political weapon in this election year.
The National Guard have been deployed in several US cities but have so far failed to stop the continuous nights of violence, looting and arson.
