Social media has been reacting to a viral video that shows a masked woman walking up to the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar and firing a drink, possibly coffee, into the Fine Gael leader’s face.
Most people have been commenting along the lines of “I can’t stand Varadkar but he didn’t deserve that”, while others are calling for the woman to hand herself in to authorities for questioning over the incident.
Today however, the Tanaiste is recovering from what appears to be a coffee cup attack on the former Taoiseach.
Footage emerged of a woman walking up to Leo Varadkar as he’s being filmed for TV in a Dublin park on Friday afternoon and saying something to the crew, then stopping, then walking over to Varadkar.
She says something then, without warning, lifts her arm and throws her apparent cup of coffee straight into Leo Varadkar’s face and all down his suit.
The startled Tanaiste can be heard shouting “ahh” – to which the woman turns around and runs off.
