A brave and emotionally stressed young mother from Castlebar Co Mayo, has received great praise and support from literally thousands of people after she courageously wrote an emotionally detailed letter to the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and fellow politicians, which she says she has “yet to meet”.

The young woman in question has decided to remain anonymous, but apparently lives just fifteen minutes from the home of Enda Kenny has received great support from parents alike on social media after her heartbreaking letter, informs Mr Kenny and his colleagues about how she is forced to send her young child to bed at night “with two pairs of socks on and a hat”.

In the heartbreaking letter the brave young mother speaks about how no politician has called to her door to listen to her terrible ordeal, the heartfelt letter reads as follows: “I’ll tell them that I have rang over twenty private practitioners in the county and how each of them charge amounts that I can certainly not afford while living on the poverty-line.

“And that in order for us to do so, we will have to cut our grocery shopping costs in half and say goodbye to heat entirely.

“I’ll then ask them to explain to me how the slogan “Let’s Keep the Recovery Going” is justifiable when the people on the ground in the Taoiseach’s own constituent are being denied access to basic health recovery.

“But then again. Will anyone even knock at all?”

The struggling mum’s letter came to light after activist Ruairí McKiernan graciously organised a crowdfunding page for the desperate mother online.

In his brief post Mr McKiernan states: “There is a young single mother I know from her work as a mental health ambassador is in urgent need of our help. “She is living in poverty in the Taoiseach’s home town and doesn’t have enough funds for food, heat and health care.”
