If you found a wad of cash in Ireland, would you hand it in? According to Sky News most people in the UK would do just that

If you found a bundle of money on the street where you live, would you hand it in to the Gardai?

According to Sky News, the residents of one village in the UK are doing exactly that. 12 packages of £20 notes have been left at different locations since 2014. The total amount found is nearly £2000, with the fourth bundle this year having been left on Monday.

The local police constable told Sky News that the bundles are always left somewhere that they can easily be found – like lying on the pavement where they are found by members of the public who have had the honesty to hand them in.

Police are still trying to figure out who is leaving the bundles but so far, interviews and even fingerprint checks have failed to solve the mystery.

They are currently asking anyone with more information to come forward but are impressed with the honesty of the people living in the village, particularly as anyone who finds money can make a claim on it if the owner turns up.

So what about you? What would you do if you found money on the street?
