Business man and former Dragon’s Den star Sean Gallagher will contest the next Presidential election after he secured nomination this afternoon.
Mr Gallagher who will be one of many candidates vying for the top position within the Aras was given the backing of four local authorities to contest the election next month.
It is understood that councils from counties Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo and Wexford have backed Mr Gallagher to contest the next election.
The business man is expected to be up against current President Michael D Higgins, whilst other candidates including Gavin Duffy, Joan Freeman and Kevin Sharkey are also hoping to seek nomination.
