Ireland has agreed to take in some of the 116 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea after a deal was reached with the Italian Government.
It is understood that Ireland will take in a number of migrants who have been onboard the Gregoretti vessel for the past week.
The migrants who were rescued in the Mediterranean Sea last week were granted permission to disembark from the vessel after the Italian government reached an agreement with a number of European countries including Ireland.
Meanwhile it has been confirmed that France, Germany, Portugal and Luxembourg have agreed to take in a number of migrants as part of the agreement.
