Ireland is experiencing a near elimination of covid-19 amongst the vaccination population, says Holohan

There’s a major push from Tony Holohan for the country to get vaccinated, claiming that those who have been vaccinated can resume fully normal life again and that they are even allowed to meet other vaccinated people indoors.

Alongside that the CMO said that the country is coming close to have eliminated covid from Ireland entirely, but only amongst those who are vaccinated, claims Holohan.

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that the vaccine programme is working and that fully vaccinated people can resume normal life.

Ireland is experiencing a near elimination of covid-19 amongst the vaccination population. Holohan said that although 188 cases of the delta variant are in Ireland, case numbers are dropping all age groups.

Holohan said that vaccinated people can meet other vaccinated people indoors and that they can meet non vaccinated people, but not as many as they can vaccinated people.

Ireland has 20 people in ICU, significantly down from Christmas.

It’s understood that 1.2 million people are now vaccinated across Ireland either with their first or second dose.
