
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in the early hours of the morning in Kildare, reports The Mirror.
Gardaí are appealing for information after the victim, a man in his 20s, was discovered unresponsive on McGee Terrace in Kildare town at around 3:15am on Sunday morning, reports The Mirror.
He was transported to Naas General Hospital, where his condition is described as serious. The area has been sealed off to allow for a technical examination, reports The Mirror.
Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dash-cam footage that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault that occurred in Kildare town in the early hours of Sunday, 26 October”, reports The Mirror.
They added: “Any road users who were in the area between 2:00am and 4:00am and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station,” reports The Mirror.
