Some officials across Europe view the recent surge in drone activity as part of a broader pattern of Russian interference, coinciding with a period of increased tensions involving NATO and the EU, reports Midwest Radio.
Simon Harris stated that no nation is exempt from such threats, and said this is one of the key reasons behind Ireland’s ongoing efforts to significantly boost its defence capabilities.
Speaking to journalists at a Defence Forces veterans’ event over the weekend, the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence also emphasised the importance of investing in radar systems, reports Midwest Radio.
Fresh drone sightings were again reported over Denmark last night, while Russia has continued to deny any involvement.
