Ireland snow forecast: Met Eireann extreme cold warnings and expert says ‘expect more’

All of Ireland is under ice and low-temperature warnings with a yellow status, according to Met Éireann, reports The Mirror.

The severe weather alerts were issued immediately before 10am on Sunday and are valid between 7pm on Sunday and 11am on Monday.

A separate yellow status weather warning of snow and ice has been issued for Northern Ireland by the Met Office in the United Kingdom, reports The Mirror.

On Monday, the Met Office alert will be in effect from 3 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.

Met Éireann issued two weather advisories on Sunday morning, the first of which is for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo.

“Very cold overnight and early Monday morning with the danger of icy patches. Some freezing fog patches locally also. A few sleet or snow showers in place,” reads the warning on the Met Éireann website, reports The Mirror.
