A 37-yr-old man has been sentenced for “stalking” online a number of Irish journalists over the past number of years.
According to RTE, Brendan Doolin with an address of Leighlin Road, Crumlin, Dublin, was described in court as being a complete recluse who never left his home and became an internet troll.
Doolin sent hundreds of messages to a number of journalists, harassing and “online stalking” them in the process.
The viciousness of his attacks led to the journalists going to the gardai and eventually getting a five year conviction with the last two years suspended.
