Irish politicians to discuss petition to ban Donald Trump from Ireland

Trump

Members of the government are expected to discuss two separate petitions calling to ban Donald Trump from entering Ireland.

This comes following Trump’s controversial comments and views on Muslim immigration. Two separate petitions were lodged to the Oireachtas, however it is likely that they will both be deemed inadmissible.

The petitions, “Ban Donald Trump from Ireland” and “Ban Donald Trump from entering Ireland” were lodged by members of the public to the government’s Joint Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions.

Both of the respective petitions will be discussed by the committee, however it is highly unlikely that anything will come of them. Standing orders dictate that petitions can’t be considered if they contain the name/names of individuals.
