Irish Water has confirmed that they are to introduce a six week hosepipe ban from today.
The nationwide ban will come into effect after Irish Water said that there has been an increase in the demand for water supplies in recent weeks.
Irish Water say that certain activities such as washing cars and filling paddling pools will be banned for the next six weeks.
They are also encouraging people to take shorter showers and reuse water supplies whenever they can.
