Wimbledon has banned Russian and Belarusian tennis players, including Daniil Medvedev, because of the war in Ukraine.
Players like men’s world number two Daniil Medvedev and women’s world number four Aryna Sabalenka have been banned from this year’s tournament.

The Club says that Russian and Belarusian tennis players have been banned from playing Wimbledon this summer due to Vladimir Putin’s “unjustified” war in Ukraine.

Stars like world number two Daniil Medvedev and number eight Andrey Rublev, both Russians, as well as women’s number four, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, will no longer be able to compete in the third Grand Slam of the year.

The All England Club, which hosts the tournament every summer in south-west London, is the first tennis organization to outright reject Russian and Belarusian players.
