The US President Donald Trump has said he is looking forward to his visit to Ireland next week.
Trump who described Doonbeg as a great place, is expected to spend two nights with his wife Melania in Co Clare during his European visit.
Speaking to RTÉ News, President Trump said: “We’re going to be staying at Doonbeg in Ireland because it’s convenient and a great place.
“We’ll be meeting with a lot of the Irish officials. It’ll be an overnight stay and I look forward to that.”
The US President is also expected to meet the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in a bilateral meeting in Shannon when he arrives next week.
