They’re absolutely furious. Continous social media commentary shows transgender campaigners are outraged that transgender women, who were born male but then decided that they were actually women, are being told to go back and fight for their country “because they’re actually really men and not real women”.
Transgender women, who were born male, living in Ukraine and trying to escape the conflict are saying that they’re getting turned back at the border when they try to leave the country.
They’re saying that soldiers are searching their body, physically, and that they’re declaring the transgender women to actually be real men and turn them back.
The trans women are saying that they’re being told they’re not allowed leave because they’re not actually women, they’re just men dressing up as women and they’re not part of the deal that’s allowing women, elderly and children to leave the country.
Homosexuality isn’t widely accepted in the Ukraine with gay marriage still illegal.
