It looks as if we could be nearing the end of the pandemic.
According to RTE, the World Health Organisation’s Europe Director has said that Omicron has moved the pandemic into a new phase and it could soon end in Europe as a result. He described it as being “pandemic endgame” for the region.
Hans Kluge said that there will most likely be a global immunity for several months, due to the summer months. He also credited the vaccine.
Even though he thought the virus would come back at some point in 2022, he said that he did not think it would be the return of the pandemic. However, he did advise caution.
