It’s their culture: New report finds travellers have a major problem of in-family fueding and fighting




According to a recent analysis, inter-family violence is a widespread issue that affects Travellers and their families, reports RTE.

It has serious repercussions for the Traveller community, including mental health issues, incarceration, injury, and in some cases, death.

At a symposium today in Dublin, researchers from the Traveller Counselling Service, Exchange House Ireland, and Traveller Mediation Service will share their research on the effects of traveller inter-family conflict on individuals and families, reports RTE.

Thirty-eight participants participated in the study, the bulk of whom being An Garda Síochána members and members of the Traveller community.

According to the survey, participants frequently brought up the issue of online information distribution as a catalyst for inter-family conflict, reports RTE.
