Jennifer is a disgrace – 683 patients are waiting for beds in hospitals around Ireland




A total of 683 admitted patients are without beds on Wednesday, according to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) through its Trolley Watch system, reports Breaking News.

Of those, 419 patients are waiting in emergency departments, while a further 264 are accommodated in wards in other areas of hospitals, reports Breaking News.

University Hospital Limerick records the highest number of patients awaiting beds, with 131 people affected. Of these, 60 are in the emergency department and 71 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

At University Hospital Galway, 73 patients are waiting for beds, including 41 in the emergency department and 32 in other wards, reports Breaking News.

Sligo University Hospital has 58 patients awaiting beds, with 40 in the emergency department and 18 in other areas of the hospital.

St Vincent’s University Hospital has 52 people on trolleys, 37 of whom are in the emergency department and 15 elsewhere in the facility, reports Breaking News.
