Jennifer is a nightmare – 660 patients are waiting for beds in hospitals around the country




A total of 660 admitted patients are waiting for hospital beds on Monday morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s (INMO) Trolley Watch, reports Breaking News.

Of these patients, 390 are waiting in emergency departments, while a further 270 are accommodated on wards in other areas of hospitals, reports Breaking News.

University Hospital Limerick is experiencing the highest level of overcrowding, with 101 people waiting for beds. Of these, 28 are in the emergency department and 73 are on wards elsewhere in the hospital.

At University Hospital Galway, 68 patients are awaiting beds, including 38 in the emergency department and 30 in other parts of the hospital, reports Breaking News.

Letterkenny University Hospital has 64 patients without beds, with 26 waiting in the emergency department and 38 located elsewhere in the hospital.

Sligo University Hospital has 63 patients waiting, including 33 in the emergency department and 30 in other hospital wards, reports Breaking News.
