Joe Biden has been formally announced as the Democrat candidate for this year’s presidential election in the US.
Mr. Biden, 77, was widely expected to be the one facing Republican Donald Trump, following Bernie Sanders’ exit from the race in April.
Speaking about Trump’s disastrous and shameful tenure in the White House so far, Mr. Biden said that the country ‘is crying out for leadership.’
