Joe Brolly says ‘pass me the vomit bucket’ after Ryan Tubridy Oireachtas show

Joe Brolly asked for a vomit bucket after watching Ryan Tubridy appear before the Oireachtas commission on Tuesday afternoon, reports The Mirror.

The former Late Late Show host appeared before the Public Accounts Committee along with agent Noel King to allege that RTÉ had misreported fees paid to him.

And Brolly took a lighter stance on the situation, asking for a vomit bucket while Tubridy spoke of his respect for the Oireachtas.

Responding to Mr Tubridy’s words “We both want to say how much we respect the Oireachtas”, Brolly cringed at the comment, reports The Mirror.

Taking to Twitter, the former Sunday Game pundit said: “Pass me the vomit bucket,” reports The Mirror.

RTE star Ryan Tubridy says he is having difficulty leaving his home after testifying to the committee that the broadcaster misrepresented the fees paid to him.

A remarkable presence, Mr Tubridy seemed emotional at times and slammed his hands on the table during his introductory speeches.

In his opening speech to the PAC, the host said that he has “become the face of a national scandal; accused of being complicit, deceitful and dishonest,” reports The Mirror.

Mr Tubridy slammed his fist on the table, saying the hidden payments had caused “justifiable anger” amongst his RTÉ colleagues.

He said “we’ll stay for as long as it takes” to PAC.

Mr Kelly said Mr Tubridy had become the ‘poster boy’ of the scandal – but declared “this is the RTE scandal”, reports The Mirror.

He told the Oireachtas: “Ryan and I have attracted and our families and our friends a horrendous, horrendous amount of criticism and abuse in the past few weeks and I would not wish it on anybody. Why? because the only figure in this whole story whose face was recognisable was Ryan Tubridy. He’s been made a poster boy for this scandal. And that’s undeserved. This is not the Ryan Tubridy scandal. This is the RTE scandal,” reports The Mirror.

Mr Tubridy said: “The last three weeks have been beyond difficult. We wanted to get things right today because so many people have been getting things wrong. Hence we were working on this… we were burning the midnight oil,” reports The Mirror.
