Five individuals have been approved to stand trial at the Central Criminal Court for allegedly obstructing the garda investigation into the murder of Ashling Murphy, a teacher.

The accused parties consist of Jozef Puska’s two brothers, Marek and Lubomir Puska, as well as Jozef Puska’s wife, Lucia Istokova. Judge Andrew Cody was informed that the Director of Public Prosecutions has given consent for all five suspects to be brought forward for trial at the upcoming session of the Central Criminal Court.

Three of the accused, namely Marek Puska, Lubomir Puska, and Lucia Istokova, are facing charges of failing to disclose pertinent information to the gardaĂ between January 12 and 27, 2022, which could have potentially aided in the apprehension, prosecution, or conviction of Jozef Puska.

The remaining two individuals, Viera Gazoiva and Jozefina Grundzova, are charged with intentionally impeding the arrest or prosecution of Jozef Puska between January 12 and 14 of the previous year.
